Recipes - Spicy Bonfire Punch

Spicy Bonfire Punch


  • 2 oranges
  • 10 cloves
  • 1.5 litres unsweetened apple juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1⁄4tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2tbsp honey
  • 1tbsp ZyloSweet
  • 3tbsp lemon juice
  • 500ml unsweetened pineapple juice


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Stud the oranges with cloves and bake for 30 minutes.
  2. In a large saucepan, add the cinnamon stick to the apple juice. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the nutmeg, honey, lemon juice and pineapple juice.
  4. Serve hot in a punch bowl with the two clove-studded oranges floating on top.
  5. If you fancy adding an alcoholic twist for a grown-up version, you could always add a little cointreau.
