Recipes - Omega Pizzas

Omega ‘Pizzas’

SERVES 2- 4 PEOPLE

These scrumptious avocado pizza breads are packed full of heart-healthy omega fats and rich in essential minerals. Wheat and dairy-free, the smooth creamy texture of avocado makes an excellent alternative to cheese when following a detox diet.

Ingredients

  • 4 thin slices of German rye or gluten-free bread
  • 2 large ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 avocadoes
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 40g Omega Excellence Organic Pumpkin Seed Butter
  • 40g sunflower seeds
  • 40ml Omega Excellence Organic Hemp Seed Oil

 

Method

  1. Preheat a medium grill.
  2. In a flat-bottomed bowl combine the avocado flesh and lemon juice and mash with a potato masher, or blend with a hand blender, until you obtain a smooth consistency.
  3. Next, place the slices of bread under the grill and toast on one side.
  4. Turn the bread over and spread the untoasted side with pumpkin seed butter. Then cover with a layer of tomato slices.
  5. Place the tomato-topped bread back under the grill for a few minutes, until the outer edges of the bread are toasted and the tomato is partly cooked.
  6. Then top each slice with the avocado mixture and spread it out with the back of a spoon.
  7. Place the toast on serving plates, sprinkle each piece with sunflower seeds and drizzle over with Hemp Seed oil.
  8. Serve immediately.
